The AP School Honor Roll Platinum status is the highest recognition awarded by the College Board to schools that significantly expand access and success in Advanced Placement (AP) courses It recognizes schools that foster a strong college-going culture by meeting strict benchmarks for student participation, college credit readiness, and advanced engagement.
Platinum Status Criteria
To earn the Platinum designation, schools must meet the following criteria for their graduating class:
- College Culture (80% or more): At least 80% of the graduating cohort must take at least one AP exam during their high school years.
- College Credit (50% or more): At least 50% of the graduating cohort must score a 3 or higher on at least one AP exam.
- College Optimization (15% or more): At least 15% of the graduating cohort must take five or more AP exams, with at least one exam taken in 9th or 10th grade.
